Established artist Addy Gardner is showing work based on an exploration of the theme of 'wildness' and what it means to people, and to the future of the planet. Robert Macfarlane in his book 'The Wild Places' says, 'a constant and formidably defining exchange occurs between the physical forms of the world around us, and the cast of our inner world of imagination..[ ] shaping our beings and our imagination in ways which are beyond analysis, but also beyond doubt.' This exhibition is showing experimental paintings and mixed media images that anable the viewer to sense both the feeling of adventure that the small, remaining pockets of wild in Britain provide, and the magic of imagining a world where it is allowed to thrive.
Addy has lived and worked in Oxfordshire for the past 15 years. She exhibits landscape paintings inspired by the local countryside in galleries both locally and further afield. Her work is collected both in the Uk and beyond.
