REALM: a collective of 3 artists in West Oxford explore the secluded REALM of the domestic space.
Rachel Gee: My work examines the tension between the female body and the domestic space. I use photography, video and found materials to distort forms and ideas, giving the viewer an insight into the possibilities of transformation and a yearning for something more ephemeral and transcendent.
Miranda Miller: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” My work opens up a dialogue about our emotional attachment to objects and how this changes as our lives evolve. Why is it so difficult to let go of old notes from my mother? The installation includes a performance of me as shopkeeper.
Lois Muddiman: My work explores the grief and joy of the empty nest. Filled with the sights, sounds and smells of children growing up, for over 20 years, now there is a strange stillness around the home.
