Art at The Duke’ features the work of Kat Onions, Janet Bird and Sam Brown.
Kat has recently changed career paths from creating artificial limbs to exploring the world of glass etching. Her ethereal etchings are enhanced with different lighting effects, transforming a flat piece of glass into something three dimensional and stunning.
Brought up on a farm in Northern Ireland, Janet’s paintings are inspired by the beauty of the British countryside and the animals that inhabit it. She exhibits at Church Lane Gallery, Banbury and her work can also be seen at www.janetbirdart.co.uk.
Photographer Sam works in North Oxfordshire. Her inspiration for this exhibition is the recent discovery of her great-grandfather's magic lantern slides of Egypt in the 1890s. Fascinated by the beauty of the slides in their own right as historic artefacts, Sam has been exploring the transformation in photography in the last 120 years to create a series of beautiful prints.
