Eight Dorchester Artists showing a variety of their work in the historic Abbey Guesthouse.
Patricia Drew makes prints in a variety of ways: she is a member of the OPC and OAS. Adrian Brooks makes Travel Theatres (traveltheatres.co.uk): quirky, wall-mounted painted theatres. Sophia Stewart-Liberty (sophiastewartliberty.com) uses watercolour to paint light as it shifts across and alters landscapes. Vicky Nolan will be showing her botanical watercolours where composition and a limited palette are all important. Mari Metcalfe focuses on capturing the spiritual content of a subject and is not constrained by a representational approach to painting. Ed Metcalfe says "oil painting is an absorbing challenge from the blank canvas throughout to the imperfect realisation of the initial vision". Rosie Southon produces mixed media landscapes of local views and handbuilt ceramics. Bill Maish paints in oils, mainly land and seascapes. His paintings are notable for their attention to detail.
