As the culmination of our Art Week participation at the church we will be celebrating the wonderful world of William Blake in song, text, image and dance inspired by his work and vision. As a way of building links between different artistic communities in Oxford we are setting up a series of encounters with the radical mystic William Blake through different artistic hubs in South Oxford, Littlemore and Cowley. Blake is a powerful and prophetic voice for our time of radical environmental, social and economic transformation as much as for his own. He stands against the greed and wholesale destruction of corporate interests then and now. We will be organising specific events to celebrate his legacy and its influence on us as well as comparing his work to contemporaries as well as radical mystics from other traditions. We encourage anyone interested in commenting in any artistic field to join us and we will accommodate as many voices as we can.
