Toby Michael is an Oxford-based figurative painter whose work focuses on people and the unspoken stories between them. His paintings hold quiet, human moments, charged with tension and emotional space. A Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year Finalist, Toby opens his studio for Artweeks so visitors can see new work in person, step into the atmosphere of the paintings, and ask about how they are made. He is classically trained and teaches from his studio, running drawing and painting sessions for those who wish to learn.
