Penny Maltby is a Designer maker and straw artist based in rural Oxfordshire. Her practice draws on traditional straw crafts, farming calendars, and harvest folklore, exploring the relationship between land, labour, and making. Working across contemporary craft and endangered heritage skills, she creates sculptural straw work, printed textiles, alongside commissions for film, costume, and cultural events. Penny is also an experienced workshop leader, passionate about skills-sharing and keeping historic rural crafts alive through teaching and collaboration.
