Region: Oxford East – City
Artform: Textiles
Cassandra Sabo is a textile designer and hand-weaver celebrated for her richly textured, sustainable textiles that bring warmth and understated luxury to contemporary interiors. Her work blends traditional craftsmanship with innovative design, appealing to clients who value artistry, heritage, and exclusivity.
Originally from Montreal, Cassandra’s background in Building Engineering informs her analytical and process-driven approach to design. After extensive travel and exploration of global craftsmanship, she earned a first-class degree in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins, London, where she specialised in weave and received the Cockpit Arts/Clothworkers’ Award.
Now based in Oxford, Cassandra has developed a signature style that fuses wool roving with experimental weaving techniques to create tactile designs that are both modern and timeless. Each piece—whether a throw, cushion, or wall hanging—is meticulously handwoven to highlight the depth and beauty of natural fibres.
Sustainability underpins her practice: leftover yarns are repurposed into new materials, and even the smallest offcuts become hand-stitched lavender sachets for clients. A recognised Homo Faber Artisan, Cassandra shares her expertise through workshops at The Oxford Weaving Studio and online courses, connecting with international audiences while creating bespoke textiles for private collectors and luxury interiors worldwide.
