I’m excited to welcome you to my first Artweeks exhibition! I work in different mediums, making detailed realist pencil drawings of animals, and also colourful embroidered mixed media textile art in a more illustrative style.
I’m inspired by bright sunset colours and combining patterns in fun and interesting ways, so, when there’s colour, expect lots of pink, yellow, blue – the whole rainbow! The intention behind my art is to convey how beautiful the seemingly simple things in life are, when we take time to slow down and notice them.
I’m particularly fascinated by bugs and animals, recognising how different each individual creature is. A big part of my process involves observing how they interact with their environment, and making many sketches to work from in my studio.
There are 6 of us sharing the converted barn gallery, with a range of different art on display: painting, drawing, textiles, jewellery, clay and more. Busby K Studio and Gallery is part of Timbers Farm and is easily accessed directly off Timbers Lane, Nuffield, with ample free parking.
