Drawing and painting by Julia Sorrell RI spanning her long career as an artist who has exhibited nationally and abroad and having had many one-woman shows around the country, in London and abroad. Working in a range of traditional media from drawing, watercolour, pastel, tempera and oil, her work has focused in the past on portraiture, the natural world. More recent work has been drawn from her own imagination which is now tending to lead her towards the sureal. Being an artist is a life's journey or explanation through one's work and discovering more avenues within one's self.
Tree-tables by Ian Sanders - inspired by native British trees in the landscape, hand-carved and crafted from the wood of British native-trees. Ian has been producing tree-tables for over two decades, the concept of hand-carving them to resemble British trees being his original idea.
Littlestock, their home, is an ongoing project to restore and transform a house from the ordinary to the extra-ordinary, involving textiles (hand-weaving and hand-embroidery), mosaics, wall-painting, stained glass and woodwork. It is being predominately done using upcycled and recycled materials and has been gradually evolving over the last five years with much to do in the future.
