Region: Abingdon – South & Vale
Artform: Drawing, Painting
I live and paint in Oxfordshire. Originally from Dorset, I was fortunate to spend my childhood surrounded by very beautiful countryside, the impression of which has remained with me.
I received an exceptional liberal education in art with a BTEC at the wonderful Shelley Park Art College in Bournemouth. Here, students were encouraged to explore and experiment in a wide range of subjects, from graphic and 3D design, fashion and textiles, to photography and printmaking. I chose to specialise in Fine Art, spending many hours in the Life Room studying the human form, along with observational studies of landscapes and still life subjects. These themes continued with a further three years of art exploration at Cheltenham and Gloucester College, culminating with the award of a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting.
From this firm grounding, I have continued to paint and draw. Each unique subject is approached with the same instinctive visual sensitivity and thoughtful engagement.
I have exhibited work with a number of prestigious groups:
· New English Art Club – 2011, 2022, 2024
· Royal Society of British Artists – 2023, 2024
· ING Discerning Eye – 1997, 2020, 2021
