Andrew Walton has been painting for 60 years, this exhibition includes a display of work from the last 25 years. Small plein air paintings are for research resulting in art which synthesises the experience of landscape combined with cartographic and imaginative iconography. These works reflect an intuitive approach to image making that draws on the absurd and the serious, defining part of a British tradition of combining narrative with representations of nature.
