358 Young Art Oxford

Region: Oxford Centre
Artform: Painting
Young Art Oxford, an exhibition showcasing Oxfordshire schoolchildren’s artwork, has been running since 2008 and is a fantastic opportunity for children to be recognised and feel good about their artistic abilities. It has become a regular fixture on many schools’ annual plans and both teachers and parents consistently comment on the tremendous boost to a child’s confidence that is gained as a result of being selected and seeing their art displayed in a professional gallery. The competition is open to all school children (including those who are home schooled) in Oxfordshire from Reception to Year 9. The theme for 2026 is ‘Little Things That Matter’ and all entered artwork will be judged and selected for the exhibition by artists and well-known professionals: Korky Paul, Dr Sarah Simblet, Jeremy Houghton and Rob Jones. In 2025 Young Art Oxford partnered with local charity Rafiki Thabo Foundation which enables access to education for underprivileged children in Africa, meaning that Oxfordshire children are encouraged to not only embrace their creativity but in doing so also support their peers in Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho so that they too can access education, truly cementing the idea of ‘children helping children’. All proceeds from the competition and exhibition will go towards the work of Rafiki Thabo Foundation. We are immensely grateful to our Headline Sponsor Hadingham Kirk and Supporting Sponsor Stoneworld who have come together to help us with the costs associated with running the Young Art Oxford exhibition.
