495 Paul Beesley

Region: Oxford East – City
Artform: Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking
Paul Beesley is a visual artist based in East Oxford. His work focuses on everyday scenes and familiar moments, finding quiet beauty in things often overlooked — a half-drunk pint, an afternoon tea, the glow of a phone on a face in the dark. Drawing on nostalgia, observation, and lived experience, his paintings invite viewers to slow down, recognise something of their own lives, and look again.
Working primarily in acrylic and oil, alongside mixed media, collage, and linocut, Paul uses bold colour and visible brushwork to create work that feels immediate and approachable. While the imagery is often playful or comforting, many pieces also gently question modern habits, routines, and the way we live now.
Paul is an original member of the East Oxford Art Collective, exhibits regularly in Oxfordshire, and his work is held in private collections.
