Bernadette uses observational drawing in graphite and chalk as a way of discovering people and the landscape, it forms the basis of her work in all mediums including charcoal drawings for painting and ink drawings for intaglio printmaking. In her painting she focusses on emotional connection and a restricted colour palette and works in oils on paper and mixed media on cloth.
