212 Alexandra Buckle

Region: Bicester – North & West
Artform: Printmaking
Alexandra lives in Bicester and draws inspiration from countryside walks and the changes in weather and season upon the landscape. These scenic discoveries are transformed into colourful, impressionistic linocuts. Most prints are worked in reduction whereby layers of colour are cut and printed from the same block, destroying it in the process and limiting the edition. Themes for Alexandra’s prints include sun streaming through woodlands and trees, twinkling water and reflections, carpets of flowers, expansive rocky coastlines and nostalgic seaside scenes. More recently, adventures from a trip to Japan have sparked a collection of works.
Alexandra has been a full-time printmaker since 2012. Her linocuts have been displayed at the Royal Academy, the Bankside Gallery and Mall Galleries in London and her work sells readily to collectors across the UK and internationally.
Alexandra teaches lino printing privately from her home studio and also runs several group lino printing workshops a year at other local venues.
