Micah Hayns & students – portfolio

Micah Hayns painting in his studio

Micah Hayns & students: "Jungle Sunrise" Oil on Canvas, 2026. In this painting I wanted to capture the beauty and warmth of a sunrise in the Jungle. The tiger sits pensively, observing its surroundings, relaxed and full of power.Micah Hayns & students: "Dancing Light" Oil on canvas, 2025. In this painting, I wanted to capture a moment of joy between two girls dancing. We all have memories of special times spent with people we love and this painting is a reminder of those moments.Micah Hayns & students: "Nature's Peace" Oil on Canvas, 2025. I think there is something so simple and universally accessible about the beauty of nature. We can all agree on that. How nature’s beauty is good and is something to treasure. That is what I wanted to capture in this painting. The swan glides through the water in a moment of harmony, engulfed by peaceful blue.Micah Hayns & students: "The Prophet" Oil on canvas, 2025. This painting captures the eyes of a man who can see beyond the material world and sees something deeper. They are eyes of wisdom and divine insight. For me it is important to think about the deeper things, the base notes of life that often get drowned out by the everyday noise. I want this painting to be a reminder of that and to encourage us to look at things more deeply and to seek a deeper understanding and truth.Micah Hayns & students: "Encouragement" Oil on Canvas, 2025. This painting is about the power of friendship. The boy on the right leans across to support his friend, his hand gently resting on his back. For me, I often need others’ encouragement to lift my spirits and to help me to keep going. This painting is a reminder of the power of encouragement and also a reminder that we are not alone.

Exhibition information

At the heart of my journey in art is a passion to try and capture the beauty of life in a way that connects with others in a meaningful way.

Brought up in Oxford and trained in Florence, I have been surrounded by beautiful spaces. I find beauty is a universal language that can disarm people of the intensity of life. It can settle the soul and bring peace and unity. A big part of my work is to bring about connection. Not just through the viewer’s connection to the art, but for my work to decorate and transform spaces that can inspire connection between others, helping to build community.

Artist information

Currently, I work at my art gallery and studio called “Jungle” in Templars Square Shopping Centre, Cowley. This is not just an art space, but also a community hub which is run by a local charity who I work with to bring transformation to the local area. We run a wide variety of free weekly workshops and events.

My newest book “Garden Song” is out now! Published by BRF, it features 30 of my original paintings and drawings alongside my mother Clare Hayns’ reflections. It is a book exploring the Biblical Psalms and a follow-up to our 2021 publication “Unveiled” about women of the Old Testament.
