Exhibition information

I’ve now constructed by hand, the rest of my ‘Food for Family and Friends’  recipe books which will be for sale along with prints and cards, suitable for Christmas especially if you’re looking for something special and different and of course made locally in Chipping Norton.

I use local printers KMS –  a collaboration I’ve enjoyed and appreciated since 2000. Their artist quality Giclee prints are amazing in their colour matching. 

The recipe book is a limited edition of 100,  based on an origami folded construction with pockets for recipe cards and illustrated with classic kitchen utensils and food sourced locally from the Coop, Oats, Wyatts farm shop, the Wednesday market and our fruit and vegetable garden. I painted, cosy in our kitchen, during last winter as the rain fell and the dark came early 

Included are a few recipes for Christmas  – a delicious vegetarian roast, braised red cabbage , a red bean salad  ……. A deliciously moist polenta, almond and lemon cake.  

Many of the recipes include honey from our bees and my husband Tony Yarrow will be sharing a room with me,  selling his local honey with a label designed by me!

Artist information

I’m a country girl at heart, brought up in the small Quaker built village of Jordans,  I roamed the meadow and wood at the bottom of our garden and grew up knowing the names of wild flowers. After training to be a primary school teacher with art as my main subject, I taught in a unit for traveller children and then worked as a social worker for The Family Service Unit in Islington. Then I moved to live and work on a farm in Carmarthenshire with my partner, where we had our first child. WE still spend a lot of time in Wales. – in Snowdonia which is a huge inspiration for my artwork, recently doing a series of paintings on the temperate rainforests in the valleys there. MY work has become concerned with rare habitats rich in biodiversity which are in need of recognition and conservation. At present I’m working on interpretation panels for Local Wildlife Sites in West Oxfordshire to help make them welcoming to the community and aware that they are special and rare places  – of Lowland Fen, Lowland meadow and Calcareous meadow grasslands which have all come under threat with only isolated pockets of these habitats left.
