Exhibition information
My paintings are inspired by the place where land and sky embrace—a symbolic space that invites reflection, renewal, and boundless hope.
As a woman who has navigated the profound changes of midlife I create art with a purpose: to inspire and motivate others to rediscover themselves during this transformative time. In my studio practice I explore the interplay of colour and texture in the landscape, building layers of media connected through movement across the surface. My work seeks to capture the sense of calm I find particularly in the liminal space where the sky and land meet.
Using acrylic, printmaking and a wide range of mixed media techniques, I build layers of colour and texture to reflect both the physical landscapes that inspire me and the emotional landscapes we navigate in life. The movement of paint mirrors the movement of change—sometimes fluid, sometimes turbulent, but always leading us forward. My philosophy is to create daily from a place of intuition and experimentation. I aim to foster a sense of connection, hope, and affiliation.
Artist information
I am a contemporary landscape painter who explores the horizon as a powerful symbol of possibility, change, and renewal. My work captures the beauty of transition—the space between where we’ve been and where we’re going. Through sweeping landscapes, luminous color, and shifting light, I create paintings that reflect the resilience and limitless potential of those in midlife stepping into a new chapter of their lives.
Growing up in Cambridge, I was shaped by the vast, open skies of the East Anglian Fens, where the meeting of land and sky first sparked my fascination with liminal spaces. I lived in the beautiful Chiltern Hills for nearly thirty years and most of my work is inspired by the rolling hills, beech woodlands and field structures around me. Where ever I am in the UK, my favourite Western Scottish Isles, North Devon or the North Yorkshire Dales I am always drawn to how the ever changing skies connect to the horizon and that is some thing, I feel, that is universal to us all where ever we are.
