Christopher Harrison – portfolio

Christopher Harrison: Above the Mist depicts the small group of trees at Brightwell Barrow in Oxfordshire during a beautiful sunrise, where mist blankets the landscape. The trees, atop a Bronze Age burial mound, stand as if in an ocean on an island. Captured in March 2025 by Christopher Harrison.Christopher Harrison: An Ancien Guardian shows an ancient oak tree in Savernake Forest, adorned in it's autumnal colours. The tree itself has a face visible in it's trunk, staring directly at you. Captured in November 2025 by Christopher Harrison.Christopher Harrison: Bluebells & Beech is an ICM (intentional camera movement) photograph, showing a beautiful bluebell woodland in it's simplest form of colour and shapes. Captured in May 2025 by Christopher Harrison.Christopher Harrison: Bluebells at Sunrise depicts a small bluebell beechwood in the Chiltern Hills during a spectacular sunrise, where the fog cleared enough to allow the sunlight to shine through, casting sunbeams onto the trees & purple flowers. Captured in May 2024 by Christopher Harrison.Christopher Harrison: Frozen by the Loch shows a weeping birch tree on the side of a remote Scottish loch in the Cairngorms National Park, which is covered in hoar frost from a freezing winter's day. Captured by drone, it gives an unusual perspective, where the calm water of the loch looks almost like the sky. Captured in December 2025 by Christopher Harrison.Christopher Harrison: Flight at Temple Island was captured at Remenham in Henley by the River Thames, where mist shrouded the landscape during blue hour. The Canada Geese were taking their first flights of the day, here shown in formation, just in the right position for the composition. Captured in September 2025 by Christopher Harrison.

Artist information

I’m Christopher Harrison, a landscape & nature photographer based near Henley-on-Thames. During the day, you’ll find me working in the tech sector in London, but my true passion happens long before the rest of the world wakes up. I try to be out in nature as much as possible at sunrise, capturing the fleeting, quiet moments just before and after dawn.

I love to travel, but I find shooting locally to be the most rewarding. There is a deep intimacy that comes from revisiting the same familiar locations over and over. By learning how the light changes through the seasons and patiently waiting for the weather to turn, I aim to unlock the extraordinary in the everyday. Whether I’m flying a drone to capture a misty landscape from above or using my camera to find intimate moments hidden inside our woodlands, my goal is to show you a unique perspective of the countryside we share.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have my work recognized internationally, including winning the Seasons category at the British Wildlife Photography Awards and the Rising Talent category for Travel Photographer of the Year, alongside awards from Glanzlichter, the British Photography Awards, the International Garden Photographer of the Year and the Drone Photo Awards. My proudest achievement, however, is that almost all of these awards were won using photographs taken right here in Oxfordshire.

When you view my work, you are seeing the scene naturally, as it appeared to me in the moment, professionally printed to bring a piece of these beautiful moments indoors.
