Exhibition information

I live and paint in Oxfordshire. Originally from Dorset, I was fortunate to spend my childhood surrounded by very beautiful countryside, impressions from which remain with me.

I received an exceptional liberal education in art with a BTEC at Shelley Park Art College in Bournemouth. Here, students were encouraged to explore and experiment in a wide range of subjects, from graphic and 3D design, fashion and textiles, to photography and printmaking. My chosen specialisation was in Fine Art, spending many hours in the Life Room studying the human form, along with observational studies of landscapes and still life subjects. These themes continued with a further three years of art exploration at Cheltenham and Gloucester College, culminating with the award of a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting.

From this firm grounding, I have continued to paint and draw. Although very different, each subject is approached with the same instinctive visual sensitivity and thoughtful engagement.

I have exhibited work with a number of prestigious groups:

·      New English Art Club – 2011, 2022, 2024

·      Royal Society of British Artists – 2023, 2024

·      ING Discerning Eye – 1997, 2020, 2021

·      Sunday Times Watercolor Competition – 2016, 2018, 2020

·      Threadneedle Prize Exhibition – 2013

·      Lynn Painter-Stainer’s Prize Exhibition – 2007, 2010

Along with local mixed exhibitions at:

·      Modern Artists Gallery, Whitchurch-on-Thames

·      Syreford Gallery, Cheltenham

·      Jelly Leg’d Chicken Arts Centre, Reading

·      Open Studios, Abingdon

·      Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery, Basingstoke
