Painting
Atmospheric watercolour paintings of Otmoor and the surrounding countryside. My inspiration comes from this flat, enigmatic landscape that is known for its wildlife and remoteness although it is only a short distance from the centre of Oxford city. I have lived at Oddington, one of the seven ‘towns’ of Otmoor, all my life and have always been fascinated by the charm of Otmoor and the colours and moods which change with the seasons. I especially enjoy painting the sky, which is uncluttered in the centre of the moor, and its reflections in the pools and floodwater.
I travel to Poland most years and that gives me more subject matter for interpretation. The landscape there is also flat and open. Quite reminiscent of Otmoor.
