My name is Natalia and I'm an illustrator based in Witney, Oxfordshire. I was born in ToruĊ in Poland, and from childhood I have been inspired by my surroundings, my life, my upbringing, and encouraged by my family to create and use my imagination at every given moment. I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2018, and then later in life decided to undertake an MA in Publishing to support my artistic practice and combine my skills with my joy of reading and the written word.
I find inspiration (and motivation) in the natural life, quiet moments, shadows, Japanese woodblocks, films and the small pleasures in life. Always looking for the next opportunity to translate life and the beauty within into images. I really enjoy visualising the unspoken feelings and emotions, in often visually metaphorical ways, and focusing on the wellbeing of the mind in my work, with a poetic visual approach. I truly believe we all bring something as viewers into the images we create and see, and give them individual depth and meaning, which is why a lot of my work, although deeply personal, means something different to each person, and I adore that. With each day we all change and grow, transform and develop, and those are the themes I strive to carry throughout my images.
I enjoy working with a variety of mediums, but my go-to's are paper, producing intricate and unique papercut works, as well as ink and lino. I like trying new forms and way of artistic thinking, and try to often bring my work into a different, more tangible dimensions, exploring the intricate physicality of my designs.
