Join guest tutor Neale for a creative and inspiring introduction to the art of glass fusing. This hands-on workshop is suitable for beginners and will guide you through the process of designing and creating your own beautiful fused glass decorations.

What the Workshop Includes:

An introduction to glass fusing, including:
Safety considerations
Design principles
Glass fusing techniques
Different types of glass used in fusing
Decorative inclusions and embellishment

Practical experience in:
Scoring glass
Cutting glass
Safely breaking glass

Designing and creating your own fused glass artwork. You will have the choice of making:
One larger Spring flower decoration, or
Two smaller Spring flower decorations

Your finished pieces can be displayed hanging in a window or mounted against a wall. If time allows, additional glass will be available to purchase should you wish to create an extra item.

Important Information:

Please wear closed-toe shoes.
Long hair should be tied back.
Please bring a packedlunch.
If you have allergies to plasters or gloves, please bring suitable alternatives that you normally use.

While every effort is made to ensure a safe environment, we will be working with glass, which can have sharp edges. Small cuts are occasionally possible.

After the Workshop:

Once completed, your pieces will be kiln-fired for approximately 16 hours. They will then need to cool gradually and will be ready for collection approximately one week after the workshop.

The workshop takes place at May I Design studio, inside Kingfisher Gallery and Studios. Please note my studio is up a flight of stairs on the first floor.
