Venue, Timing, Cost
Rigid heddle looms are a good choice for new weavers as setting up is straightforward and new ones are relatively inexpensive. You will be able to explore the variety of patterns that can be woven in plain weave (over one thread and under the next) as well as experimenting with textured weaves. You will also be able to spend part of the day weaving on a loom threaded at about 4 threads an inch. These threads, which are the warp, will be completely covered by the weft.
