Suitable for beginners, improvers and those wishing to rekindle their love and enjoyment of drawing and life drawing. The workshop aims to provide you with a space in which to completely immerse yourself in the art of drawing for the day, so you don’t have to worry about anything from the outside world. I liken it to a visual health spa themed around drawing and drawing the human form. The day will start with a morning of mindful and creative drawing exercises. I have a series of really enjoyable and fun drawing exercises that will help you focus your mind on the present moment and help you let go, as you relax into your day. Following these, we will focus our attention on some drawing techniques that practice some drawing building blocks that will be helpful in drawing the human form from life, later in the day. All tools and materials will be provided, so all you need to do is turn up ready to treat yourself! There will be a short break in the middle of the day for lunch, during which participants will have the opportunity to review and discuss their work, both individually with Karen and with the others in the group. (Please bring your own packed lunch, although light refreshements will be on offer throughout the day) In the afternoon, we will be joined by a profesisonal life model. We will start with getting back into the rhythms developed in the morning, with some short warm-up poses, using some of the techniques introduced in the morning session. Following a short mid-afternoon tea break, we will dedicate the last part of the day to one or two longer poses. I will offer feedback and guidance, where desired, as you enjoy drawing the nude figure from life. To bring us back together and close the day, there will be a short review and feedback session giving us the chance to reflect and cement the key elements and outcomes of the day. Easels, drawing boards, paper, tools and materials will be provded, however you are welcome to bring your own to use if you would like. Booking via https://neocartouche.eventbrite.co.uk
