Venue, Timing, Cost

Ayres House Studios, Wallingford
Saturday, 19 February 2022 to Saturday, 17 December 2022
10:30 - 4:40
£60 includes materials, guidance, model and refreshements

Suitable for beginners, improvers and those wishing to rekindle their love and enjoyment of both drawing and life-drawing.
The workshop aims to provide you with a space in which to completely immerse yourself in the art of drawing for the day......
I liken it to a visual health spa themed around drawing and drawing the human form.

The day will start with a morning of drawing exercises that will warm us up and bring our attention into looking, focusing and paying attention to the present moment, leaving the outside world just there,... outside! There will be an opportunity to practice some drawing techniques or 'building blocks' that will be helpful in drawing the human form from life, later in the day. All tools and materials will be provided, so all you need to do once you've booked is turn up ready to treat yourself!

There will be a short break in the middle of the day for lunch, during which participants will have the opportunity to review and discuss their work, both individually with Karen and with the others in the group. (Please bring your own packed lunch, although light refreshements will be on offer throughout the day) In the afternoon, we will be joined by a profesisonal life model. We will start with some short and medium-lengthed warm-up poses, using some of the techniques used in the morning session.

Following a short mid-afternoon tea break, we will dedicate the last part of the day to one or two longer poses. Feedback and guidance will be available on request as desired, as we enjoy drawing the nude figure from life, together.

To close the day, there will be a short review and feedback session giving us the chance to see each others' work and to reflect and cement the key elements and outcomes of the day.
Easels, drawing boards, paper, tools and materials will be provded, however you are welcome to bring your own to use if you would like.
