In brief, we will be working with water soluble gouache paint, using this as a resist to ink. Using a chosen image, this is lightly drawn onto a prepared surface in pencil. All the areas for resist are painted with gouache to act as a barrier. After allowing this to dry the whole composition is covered in Indian ink. Again, after drying the whole image is washed off with a sponge to reveal the subsequent tonal image underneath. We will work into these using other media.
