Deconstruct, Reconstruct, Abstract Portfolio Course 2022 - 23

Overview

My aims and objectives for the new Portfolio course are along similar lines as the original Deconstruct course run in 2021 but this time I hope for outcomes to be all about the development of your own art practice! You are free to choose your subject matter. We will use both still life and landscape in the sessions.
I work predominantly with landscape. For me, ‘Abstracting the Landscape’ is to work with aesthetic qualities and considerations of shape, colour, pattern, mark making, composition, to learn to make objective decisions and judgements according to these. I hope to be able to share some of my working process with you.

The course is planned over 8 months from September 2022 to March 2023, one session per month. It will be delivered online through Zoom. Numbers are limited to allow for group interaction and for 1:1 feedback, usually by email.
Who can enrol?
The course is suitable for previous Deconstruct participants and new people. Some of the content will be familiar to those that worked with me last year but it will not be the same. Recap is a useful tool!
