Colourful quilt with dark background

This course will enable you to make your very first quilt. You will be making a square quilt (big enough to be a wall hanging, playmat or cot quilt).

You will make design decisions, cut and join fabric pieces, learn how to chain piece, add quilting, and finish your quilt with binding, and you’ll be guided by expert tutor Sara Fernandez.

This is a perfect course to get started on your quilting journey, and by the end of it, you will have a lovely quilt to keep or to gift.

You need to be able to use a sewing machine to make a straight stitch, and you will also need to bring the following materials:

- A charm pack (pre-cut quilting fabric measuring 5 inches square).
- 1m fabric for background
- 1m fabric for the back of your quilt
- Rotary cutter, ruler and thread (mats and sewing machines will be provided).

Sewing machines and basic sewing kits are provided, although you may bring along your own if you prefer.

You will receive an email before your course starts with more information about the list of materials, and where you can buy fabric locally and/or online.
