I have enjoyed art and creativity since a young age. It is only after raising a family I had a chance to pursue my dream.
During My Art ‘O’ levels I enjoyed working with charcoal, ink and watercolours. I never expected to turn out as a stone sculptor and stained glass artist!
I learnt stone carving basics at a local workshop. Stained glass and other skills are learnt from workshops, courses and experiment. All of my work really comes from the heart, from where I grew up in Celtic Cornwall. Who would not be inspired by the bleak moorland granite outcrops and mystical ancient woodlands rolling down to the sea? Legend and stories of old are a source of wonder and inspiration. Animals and nature feature massively in my work too along with those wonderful Celtic crosses and ancient Churches with their beautiful stained glass windows.
My artistic work continues to evolve and I am constantly experimenting with different techniques and types of art. The thing I love about art is you never stop learning.
I exhibit all my work (and experiments!) at my home and place of work during The Oxford Art Festival. Sculptures are on display in the garden, my work space is open for you to see and there is a small gallery in the house for smaller items and indoor sculpture.
I will be on hand to chat about my work and demonstrate stone carving.
The venue will be signposted and there is plenty of off-road parking.
