454 Vivien Sieber OCG

Region: Headington – City
Artform: Ceramics, Pottery
My pots are functional, they are made to be used and enjoyed. I make bowls, jugs, plates and vases. All are thrown, generally in white stoneware. I am drawn to a palette of muted cream, grey, blues and greens. Some of my earthenware pots have vibrant dichroic glass crystals in the glaze which create unique flows of colour when fired.
I am interested in developing textures and colours from the interactions between glazes and oxides and frequently use leaves to imprint glaze. I have just begun to make my own glazes and often mix different clays to achieve a texture once the item has been fired. I fire stoneware to 1255 deg and my glazes are food and dishwasher safe.
Please come and see my pots displayed in the studio at the end of the garden and take a look at the garden.
