Over the last ten years my obsession with pottery has grown. Everything I make is wheel thrown. I am fascinated as pots emerge from a lump of clay to be refined at later stages. I blend white and textured clays to create variation across the glazes. I am beginning to make my own glazes.
The shapes I make are round and generous; I enjoy making larger pieces. With an eye on practicality – handles must be large enough to hold comfortably, spouts should pour easily without dripping, and plates must fit in a dishwasher. My stoneware pots are to be used and enjoyed.
