Suzanne O’Driscoll studied painting in London at the Central School of Art and Design and as a postgraduate at the Slade School of Fine Art, London.
Throughout her career, travel has been an important influence in Suzanne’s painting and paper works, inspiring her choice of imagery and interest in the use of strong colour. Researching, collecting, and piecing together this visual imagery is part of her process in producing her signature colourful landscapes and cityscapes.
Her latest collection of drawings and paintings are more intimate, based on detailed studies from nature, often observed in gardens and natural habitats. These images from nature are then combined to create her own visual interpretation of these miniature worlds.
Suzanne also works in metal using her drawings to inspire wall and freestanding sculptures. The designs for these pieces reflect her interest in structure, form, and composition. Suzanne has also been commissioned to design and produce large scale public art sculptures, for many different locations, and has gained a reputation in this area.
At this studio show, you will see a collection of her paintings, sculptures and displays of recent public art projects, which show the many stages of design, fabrication and installation for each project.
