Painting

Stacey Gledhill presents a selection of recent oil paintings on canvas and wood, including still-life and Oxford landscapes.

Through the language of painting, working directly from life and from imagination, Stacey Gledhill creates images imbued with warmth, intimacy, and light. Inspired by the post-impressionist painters including Èdouard Vuillard and Pierre Bonnard, as well as Giorgio Morandi, Stacey Gledhill’s paintings show domestic space, daily moments and landscape with a human presence. Expressive paint handling and omission of fine detail lends a freshness and immediacy to her work, inviting the viewer to witness and engage with the painting process.

Stacey Gledhill (b. 1986, Wellington, New Zealand) studied classical methods of painting within the atelier tradition for four years at London Fine Art Studios. She has exhibited with the Federation of British Artists, at the Mall Galleries in London, and at Leighton House Museum. She has been featured in Artists and Illustrators magazine (Oct 2021), and in 2019 she was shortlisted for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize. Since 2021 she has been a visiting painting tutor at Balliol College, Oxford University. She lives and works in Oxford, UK.
