Sarah is a talented Felt Artist, working intuitively with wool tops, nepps, natural Blue-faced Leicester curls and silks to create dazzling variations of colour and definition in her landscapes; carefully layering the fibres to produce works at once extraordinarily delicate and durable. At its simplest, wet felting (as opposed to needle felting) is the alchemy of water and soap on natural fibres. The inherent texture of wool brings her pictures alive, each beautiful piece unique and capturing that drama worked on the land by transient skies. Sarah has recently moved back to Oxfordshire after spending twelve years in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and so is able to include landscape pieces in this exhibition from vastly different areas of outstanding natural beauty.
