I’m inspired by the hills of Wales, the majestic Scottish Highlands and Islands, and colours of the Mediterranean. My love of the outdoors and the human connection with the wild motivates my landscapes; using whatever tools I find to mark out undulations, colours, mood and the occasional pathway.
My imagined landscape paintings are layered using collage, watercolour and cotton, or can be just simple watercolour. My style is achieved not often by brushes but by using other found objects to tease and play with the water and pigment to blend and lead colours. My loose florals and wildlife are more traditionally painted, mostly with brushes.
I regularly exhibit across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas however my work for Artweeks in May 2023 is all new.
I am pleased to be at Spice Lounge in Summertown (https://w3w.co/kings.exit.dizzy) for the third year, exhibiting during the City week of Artweeks, and I am returning to lovely Shipton on Cherwell during the middle week (https://w3w.co/newsprint.desk.fiery)
I work full-time for the NHS which I love, so painting has to be part time for now.
More of my paintings, prints, event listings and other products can be found on my website www.northstreetstudio.co.uk
