Photography
A great deal of my photography takes place within walking distance of my home and that applies to this photograph of Iffley Fields. It was taken last year early in the transition from winter to spring; also early in the day when the sun was low in the sky and the overnight frost was still visible. This place I thought I knew so well is transformed for me by a fresh focus on structure and tone. Interestingly revelation is achieved by a process of omission. Less becomes more as colour is stripped from the scene which as a result acquires a magical unreality.
