I enjoy working in a range of mediums and techniques and the subject matter often suggests which material would best convey the elements of light, form, texture and emotion which I want to communicate.
I trained in oil painting and taught myself to become proficient using charcoal, pastels, and mixed media in my artworks. I particularly enjoy the sculptural quality of charcoal and using mixed media in an artwork. I have always been inspired by the natural world and my deep connection to it.
I'm drawn to depicting landscape, trees and flowers naturalistically and also using their forms and shapes as a means of communication in more abstract works.
I also specialise in portraiture, in particular portraits of dogs. I welcome commissions and have successfully completed many portraits of people, pets, houses and landscapes.
I'm delighted to be taking part in Oxfordshire ArtWeeks 2024 in the Town Hall in Watlington, alongside three other talented artists.
The exhibition will be open daily and at weekends from 11.00am to 5pm
