I work in a range of mediums and techniques and enjoy the creative freedom of allowing the subject matter to suggest to me which material would best convey the elements of light, form, texture and emotion which I want to communicate.
I trained in oil painting and have since taught myself to become proficient using charcoal and pastels. I particularly enjoy the sculptural quality of charcoal and using mixed media in an artwork. I have always been inspired by the natural world and my deep connection to it. I see a language and internal strength in trees, flowers and the landscape that i admire and find awe inspiring.
My artworks can be naturalistic depictions and more abstract, vibrant colour or monochrome.
I also specialise in portraiture, in particular portraits of dogs. I welcome commissions and have successfully completed many portraits of people, pets, houses and landscapes.
I'm also very interested in Art and being creative as a therapy for mental or physical ailments and have a strong desire to share this sentiment and give therapeutic art sessions to adults and children, having previously worked for two charities.
I'm delighted to be exhibiting this year in the beautiful Tree Barn in Christmas Common, near Watlington. I will be exhibiting alongside eleven other talented artists, where we will be showing together a wide range of artworks in various mediums and materials. A destination not to be missed!
The exhibition will be open daily from 12 noon till 6pm with a open until 7pm on Thurs/Fri.
Convenient, Free parking and refreshments available.
