Oxford Photographic Society (OPS)

Region:
Oxford Centre
Artform:
Photography

At the Oxford Westgate Library you will discover a diverse exhibition of outstanding photographs by OPS members. From nature to portraits, street to abstract this curated mix of styles, subjects, and techniques unites a group of people who are all passionate about photography. We hope you enjoy the variety of work on display.

OPS was founded in 1889 to make the art and science of photography available to anyone who was interested. Today we continue to bring people with a passion for photography together and endeavour to provide inspiration, learning and friendship through a programme of weekly meetings and outings.

Meetings cover a variety of presentations from inspirational photographers to tips and techniques, competitions with individual feedback and photographic workshops. Outside the weekly meetings there are regular member's outings from day trips to festivals in London like Purim and Pride and street photography in Oxford to expeditions to Africa to photograph the wildlife.
OPS welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in photography. We meet every Tuesday evening from September to June at the Oxford Silver Band Hall in Temple Road.
