GRL PWR by Meg Hiorns
Region:
Banbury - North & West
Artform:
Digital Art, Painting

Meg is an Oxfordshire based illustrator that combines vibrant colours with feminist themes to create both joyful and powerful works.
This exhibition will follow a variety of themes as Meg explores joyful simplicity alongside, more complex pieces filled with female rage, investigating the idea of softness and anger. How women can be all things and are not restricted to one state of being.
Meg creates her illustrations using a variety of different mediums such as Gouache, water colour, coloured pencil, and largely digital drawing. There is a cohesiveness that cannot be denied throughout her pieces, even in these distinctive forms. Her work is identifiable and undeniably her own.
Come along and explore her world of colour, creation and consciousness raising. A large amount of Meg’s ethos when creating has been to bring joy too an often difficult and grey world, as the world has gotten darker, she has wanted to created more light but with a vibrant colour pallet and a powerful message. Join her on her current journey of self discovery exploring femininity and what that means to be truly herself.
