May I Design was set up by (me) Meg Harris-Smith. I have always dabbled in crafts. When I was a little girl I would buy paper plates to decorate (I think my parents thought I was mad!) and then 'sell' them (the plates not my parents) from my Wendy house at the end of the garden.

This passion for making things has never gone away, I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2008 with a Fine Art degree and went back to study further modules in Surface Pattern Design. In 2020 I launched my first product range at The British Craft and Trade Fair online. I was delighted (and super surprised) to win 'Best Newcomer' which was awarded by Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge.

All my designs start as free motion machine embroidered motifs which are then sold as originals and also printed onto lots of lovely products including stationery, homewares and greetings cards.

I also run workshops from my studio in Witney, Oxfordshire, encouraging others to fall in love with this wonderful craft.
