Ian Sanders's Tree-Tables are unique and each one is individually carved from British native trees reflecting the personality from whence the wood came. On display will be Tree-Tables in elm, ash, oak, yew etc.. Ian will also be demonstrating hand-carving tree-tables during Artweeks. Ian has been making his Tree-Tables for over twenty years, and has exhibited at many craft and wood fairs, exhibitions and music festivals.
Julia Sorrell RI is highly individual and works in her own personal style irrespective of any current fashion. Her work is based on direct observation from the world around us. As well as working in her studio, Julia will be displaying drawings and paintings in pencil, water-colour and mixed media as well as oil. Subjects will range from sunflowers and other pants, natural forms and work from her 'Wild and Ancient Orkney' exhibition sponsored by the ACE Foundation. Also on display will be her hand spun and embroidered sculpture 'Reverence'. Julia was trained in textiles at Goldsmith's College under the legendary Constance Howard, and later was a post-graduate student in Drawing and Painting at the Royal Academy Schools. Her work has been exhibited widely in London, throughout the UK, Germany and the USA, and is several public collections such as the National Portrait Gallery, the collections of New Hall College, Clare Hall College and the Macdonald Institute Cambridge.
