My silk screen prints are based on the edges of memory, the way that memories fragment and merge and fade as time moves on. The way my mind plays tricks and confuses things, merging memories poetry and lyrics. I‘m interested in the way a place or memory makes me feel, the joy of the moment that is fleeting, something I endeavour to convey in my use of mark making and colour within each of my silk screen prints.
All of my prints start out as drawings in the first instance before I then start working them out as silk screen prints in my print studio. I will also be offering a photo emulsion silk screen printing workshop on Wednesday 21st and Friday 23rd of May during Artweeks. We will be creating artwork based on your own images / photographs - although I will have some images for inspiration - and then be using Chinagraph pencils and pens to create up top a three colour silk screen print. No experience necessary, all materials will be provided. This workshop will be very limited in numbers due to space. Please email hello@jonmackay.oirg if you are interested or visit www.jonmackay.bigcartel.com to book online.
I will also have available prints that I have produced for various clients in the music industry over the years.
When you get to Hill Close in Charlbury, take the left hand fork in the road, I'm at the bottom with the Artweeks sign. Please come down the side of the house. Parking is available on the drive or in and around Hill Close.
