I am a landscape painter and this year am celebrating 20 years of taking part in Oxfordshire Artweeks. I am foremost an oil painter but also use acrylics, pastels and charcoal and particularly love sketching and painting outdoors in South Oxfordshire along the Thames and also in the mountains and forests of Snowdonia. I am fortunate to live and work in both places and in 2021 and 2022 won Regional welsh painter prize for the Discerning Eye exhibition . I exhibit often at the Mall Galleries, London but also in regional galleries and in August 2024 have a large solo exhibition at Oriel MON on Anglesey. Earlier this year I converted an old garage into a beautiful light gallery space and I will continue to work in my studio alongside it during Artweeks as visitors seem to enjoy this. I am always more than happy to explain my painting process to visitors and particularly enjoy inspiring young people to use sketchbooks and loosen up . The garden is a beautiful place to relax with tea and cake and there will be chairs and tables under the trees for people to enjoy some time out. It is also very close ( 5 mins walk) to the river Thames and Wittenham Clumps and only a bit further to The Wood Centre /Sylva and the Earthtrust. Clumps Orchard barn gallery is only two minutes walk through my back gate - its a bit of a warren around here and we are all interconnected. I plan to paint the river Thames this Spring and also Wittenham Clumps Nature reserve so hope to have lots to enjoy.
