Oil painting on cradled board from series The 72 Microseasons of Impermanence
Region:
Wolvercote & Wytham - City
Artform:
Multidisciplinary

My work broadly considers the value of the ordinary before it becomes rare.
At this ArtWeeks venue I am showing my interpretations, in abstract oil paintings, of micro-seasonal events originally recorded in an ancient Japanese calendar. The show includes small, woven and sculptural items made using materials from our natural garden. Also drawings in ink and graphite of recorded sounds, for example birdsong. There is a space for visitors to make their own drawings as they listen. I am showing ink and embroidered drawings on textiles and work derived from observations and notations of the natural world encountered on daily walks and coastal visits.
This is an unusual exhibition of works in many different media, expressions of my deep appreciation of the living world.

Artist present. Travel to the venue easy (number 6 bus) and many other ArtWeeks venues to visit in Wolvercote and Wytham.
