Set within the Heritage and Rural Skills Centre, discover heritage crafters showcasing a range of traditional crafts with a modern twist, within the restored Coleshill Model Farm buildings.
Superbly crafted gold and silver pieces of artistic interpretation are cleverly created by celebrated jeweller Chloé Romanos. She works with precious materials, sterling silver, gold and gemstones, using traditional silversmithing techniques. Her work focuses on crafting unique, one of a kind, statement jewellery. They are wearable messages or poems.
Helen Pakeman experiments with a wide variety of materials and media, across two and three dimensions. Through textiles and basketry, with a special interest in foraged fibres, her work sits at the intersection between fine art and craft. She makes to understand the world and her place within it, often using some surprising materials!
Beautiful English hardwoods and genuine leathers are combined to produce finely finished, tactile fireside bellows by Anne Mills. These appealing accessories invite touching, testing for ‘puff’ and very often a conversation – frequently about the source of components, or childhood memories... People’s delight in their discovery is an ongoing inspiration.
Sally Barnes, former Master Saddler and Harness Maker, also specialised in leather luggage and artefacts. After retiring, she has used sculpture and design to explore the possibilities of leather, in all its many forms, to enhance sculpture and art. This is the start of a journey from traditional leather use to the experimental and, more recently, creating clay sculptures.
