An array of ceramics for house and garden - from shots to garden jars. Most of the work is wheel thrown, some handbuilt with slabs. I work in stoneware and French porcelain. Most of the pots are glazed with carbon trap shinos, decorated with liquid wax, splashes of sang de boeuf, sprinklings of rose ash and fiercely reduced in a gas kiln. There are many pots that are fired in a wood fired anagama kiln in France. This kiln is fired continuously for five days and nights and the pots, unglazed, are decorated by the passage of the flame and fly ash. The effects can be dramatic. I will be firing this kiln in April so hope to bring back many pots, fresh from the firing, for Artweeks.
I make a full range of ware for use in daily life as well as tiles, fish, bottles and pebbles. I also make wild edge bread boards in elm and walnut.
