Bampton - North & West
Artform:
Painting

I am a self-taught artist, born and working in Oxford, and I started painting in 2021. I work mostly in gouache and acrylics and love to paint landscapes including Oxford, Dorset, Cornwall, Provence, and Tuscany. I also draw and paint portraits of children, adults and animals.

I worked at the University of Oxford, Clinical Medical School, as an academic administrator until recently and took early retirement in 2024 to concentrate on my painting.

My works are typically very colourful, and often contain references to artists that I admire. My inspirations are drawn from a variety of sources, including nature, music, and the people and places I encounter in my daily life.

During 2021-2024 I worked on commissions including a baby portrait and pets and houses. In 2024 I was commissioned to design a book cover for a book about the music festival in Aix, France.

I am a member of Oxfordshire Artweeks www.artweeks.org and exhibited for the first time in May 2024. I am also a member of West Oxfordshire Arts (WOA) www.westoxarts.com.

You can find me exhibiting and selling my works in Oxfordshire, (Oxford, Summertown, Headington, and Bampton amongst other places) during the year. In May 2025 I will be exhibiting at the WOA Gallery in Bampton, Oxfordshire as part of Artweeks. I also have an exhibition at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in May/June 2025.

In my spare time I and play piano and flute and sing. I am section leader in an acapella chorus called Harmony InSpires Oxford www.harmonyinspires.org.

I sell my paintings and produce high quality prints and greetings cards. I am also available for commissions.
