At Chipping Norton School, Art is taught to all students in years 7,8 and 9 and then on average 50 students choose to study Art at GCSE each year and 20 then go on to study the subject at A’ level.
Our themes for Key Stage 3 student include portraiture, natural forms and structures.
GCSE course work include Decay and African Art and Emotions at A’ level.
We have a high uptake of students who go on to higher education in the arts and have had students attend the prestigious institutions of Goldsmiths, Kingston and Central St. Martins.
At CNS we run a pottery club after school as well as a fantastic arts club run by a local artist.
We also work with local feeder primary schools creating artwork as a collaboration.
The Art work on display has been collected together from last year’s Year 11 students taking GCSE Art and Year 13 students taking A’ level Art.
